How the votes are counted

A new video has been added to the site. You can now see how the votes will be counted on 2 May. The video explains the e-counting process and is accompanied by voiceovers from Sir Trevor McDonald OBE.

Counting will start at 9am on 2 May. There are three count centres across London where the counting will take place - Alexandra Palace, Olympia and Excel. The whole count is expected to take just 12 hours. If the same number of votes were counted manually it would take 2-3 days.
